AWARDS, COLLABORATIONS AND
Blowing our own trumpet
Small Business Sunday
31st March 2020
Chosen by Dragon's Den star Theo Paphitis for his SBS award. I was so excited to win this award as you get a Twitter boost and so much support from a great network of businesses small and large.
What really made this award special for me though was that one of Theo's businesses is Ryman's Stationary and they do a lot for recycling and raising money for the Children's Charity and I take my (and my local school's) used pens to them.
26th March 2020
Recognised by Jacqueline (Ann Summers) Gold CBE for my success as a female entrepreneur.
"Ecoblooms is a unique and innovative business that transforms plastic bottles into beautiful and bright flowers to bring joy to it's customers. Sylvia's commitment to supporting the environment by creating beautiful floral designs from wasted materials is truly inspiring and sets this company apart. I wish her every success in the future." Brides up north
I was so lucky to be asked to provide flowers for this stunning photoshoot collaboration. Bright and tropical was the remit and I think my ecoblooms fit right in there (in the middle).
Your Yorkshire Wedding
My first media mention was on the Your Yorkshire Wedding website in the Editor Loves section. Thank you Hannah for the feature and all the Facebook mentions that followed.
I sent David Attenborough a rose and letter explaining how ecoblooms was inspired by his Blue Planet programme and that there are many people in my village trying to help solve the problem of plastic pollution in our oceans by giving me their rubbish to recycle.
He sent this lovely letter back.
Blog Up North
My first collaboration and the most fun I've had. I was so lucky to be able to work with the loveliest bunch of small business entrepreneurs and have built up a beautiful relationship with each collaborator since and would recommend each of them them.
This was a follow on from the Eco Wedding collaboration, which actually resulted in me having my own video interview with the lovely husband and wife team at Wedding Espresso.

Please follow Wedding Espresso on Instagram and Facebook for tips on how to have the best wedding from the point of view of the venues, entertainers, photographers, caterers and florists.
HRH Prince of Wales
The Prince of Wales has been petitioning against single use plastic since the 1980s and only now have people started listening and realising the issue. I sent HRH one of my flowers to let him know we're trying, even if it's on a small scale, to solve the pollution crisis. Understandably, he had to return it but I hope he liked it.
